The whole Story
About
My passion for jewelry started as a teenager during the grunge hippie rave days of the 1990s. My friends and I would macrame hemp chokers and layer them like tribal members of our rebellious generation. I loved how our jewelry was all about self expression. The styles were earthy and rich with the colorful counterculture of that time.

When I was 24, my older brother Rob unexpectedly died. Not knowing how to cope with such grief, I turned to something that had always fascinated me— hot molten glass. I learned the basics of flame working and started creating little glass jewelries, channeling my emotions into hours of creative exploration. It became a way for me to heal, to find some semblance of joy in the darkest of hours.

In a moment of free-spirited inspiration, I decided to mix local beach sand into a glass pendant and something magical happened. The grains of sand, when magnified, create a stunning visual effect that was the beach's fluid energy solidified in the palm of my hand. What a way to carry the beach with me wherever I was.​ Eventually I used ashes instead of sand and the transformation of this work became much bigger than I imagined.

Now based in Seaside, Oregon on the beautiful Oregon Coast, alongside my husband and our family. The Beach Diamond's sunny studio is a place for others to honor their story with beautiful personalized jewelry.
